Mafia had to run in front of villagers’ protest
Dumka: (jharkhand) On Tuesday, the land mafia found it costly to occupy about ten bighas of land in the magistrate colony of Mufassil police station area. The mafia had to flee in front of the villagers’ protest. The villagers, along with Chunnu Marandi, the head of the Bandarjori panchayat, put a stop to it by putting chudka on the ground.
Now no work will be done on the land without the permission of the ryots. Some ryots sold their land far behind the colony. Those who worked for the land bought all the land and started building four walls. In this sequence, the rioters started getting the work done for the possession of about ten bighas of submerged land.
On getting the information on Tuesday, the people of the village went to the headman and told everything. When the chief came with the villagers, he saw that work was going on in the submerged area. On seeing the villager, the mafia fled with JCB. After this the chief put the chudka. The chief said that he has no objection in getting the work done on the raiyati land, but with this it is wrong to encircle about ten bighas of land of the submerged area. There is a temple in this land and there is a cremation ground.
People also perform Chhath in the nearby pond. Occupation on the land of the submerged area will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Now the work will not be allowed without the consent of the ryots of the land. Told that two mafia wants to occupy the land. The administrative officers will also be apprised of the whole situation.
